Philosophy
Art is as individual as we are. To each person art symbolizes something different, draws up different emotions, moves in unique and inspiring ways. As an artist, it is my goal to use my art and the teaching of art to open minds to create and be drawn into new experiences; helping people to discover art and its potential to impact their lives.
About Me
I have always loved art. Growing up in a very talented family, I was always surrounded by creativity. My twin sister and I were born and raised in Jenison, MI.
I am a proud Michigan native spending most of my childhood outdoors, with family, picking fresh fruit, or on the beautiful Lake Michigan.
Attending Hope College was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It is where I made life long friendships, grew up, got my education degree, studied art and learned how to paint. I focused on oil painting but I enjoy all mediums.
Since college I have taught high school painting classes and have instructed private lessons. I am currently a docent at an art museum giving tours to middle and high school students.
